Mrs. Erica Churilla
School Counselor A-Jone

My name is Erica Churilla and I am the counselor for students with last names A-Jone. I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in middle school Science, and a Masters in Education, School Counseling from Purdue University Calumet. I taught 8th grade Science for five years before completing my counseling degree. I spent nine years as a counselor at Lake Central High School before becoming a Clark Coyote. I truly enjoy the middle school age, and look forward to working with students from 5th grade to 8th grade, as this time is a unique transition. I am available to assist with academic, personal, and social concerns. I can also provide families with information on outside resources and to answer questions. I really look forward to meeting all of my students and their families at Clark Middle School!

Miss Sharon Vail
School Counselor Jonf-Sens

My name is Sharon Vail and I am the school counselor for students with the last names from Jonf-Sens. I
am excited to be working with the students and families of Clark Middle School. I look forward to
helping the students navigate through these middle years; encouraging them to create good academic
habits and do their best daily. I hope to help them grow emotionally, become more independent and
treat each other with respect and kindness. The students are always welcome to see me. I earned my
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and my Master’s Degree in Education/School Counseling, both from
Purdue University Calumet. I have 17 years experience with high school students as a professional
school counselor and have previous experience working with youth in other settings.

Mrs. Karen Bowman
School Counselor Sent-Z

My name is Mrs. Bowman and I am the school counselor for students with the last name beginning with Sent – Z of the alphabet.  I have worked extensively at the high school and middle school levels as a school counselor, and have a passion for helping youth achieve their goals and develop both socially and emotionally. I have a Master of Arts in Education, counseling and guidance from Ball State University, and continuing education for license professionalization through Purdue University Calumet. My bachelor’s degree was conferred at Taylor University in Art Education, grades K-12. I have taught art at both the elementary and high school levels.  I am extremely excited to work with the students at Clark Middle School, and look forward to serving them as they transition from 5th grade though 8th grade.  There are many changes that will take place during middle school, and I am happy to assist all my students with any issues that may come their way. I encourage the students at Clark to seek out the counselors as needed.
