Choir and Handbells at Clark

Clark Choir

Like all the other music programs that ClarkMiddle School has to offer, the Choir Program will present many great opportunities in helping the students grow artistically.  In addition to learning rhythms, note values, and rest values, the students will learn how to sing with musical expression, and they will be trained in the foundations of what it takes to become a great musician.

During the fall semester, Mr. Arroyo will be looking for students who have the desire to participate in Swing Choir.  The Swing Choir will allow your student to expand on their musical interest and it will give them an extra opportunity to experience singing and dancing within a group.

Swing Choir rehearsals are before school Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30am-8:30am

Clark Handbells

The Handbells are a unique approach to a traditional Jr. High School Music Program.  ClarkMiddle School is proud to own and provide the students with 4 full octaves of bells.  And for each piece of music, each student is assigned one, or sometimes more, bells representing the different notes.

This program teaches the students note values, note names, and rhythms.  The students enrolled in this program are trained to be quite disciplined when it comes to reading rhythms and listening to each other in order to ensure a proper melodic sound.

Not only do the students learn how to play the bells, but they are also taught how to properly care for and maintain their instruments.
